Abstract: Postural instability is one of the clinical hallmarks of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Postural instability is already reasonably common during the early stages of PD but seems inevitable in later stages. Postural instability severely impacts quality of life and is associated with falls and fear of future falls. Therefore, it is important to identify possible predictors for postural instability and falling in the future. One of these predictors might be the pants sign. The pants sign can be described as the inability to put your pants on while standing. This study aims to deduce a possible relation between the pants sign, postural instability, and (future) falling in PD.
