Dissemination of results

Researchers have the right to make disclosures of data in scientific journals or other publications. Every manuscript should acknowledge the used data as described in the Qualified Researcher Agreement. Moreover, manuscripts should be submitted to the Research Support office at least 45 days before first submission. All details on publication agreements are included in the QRA; an overview of the references to the datasets is included in the download section.

We would appreciate a notification when your manuscript has been published, including DOI. We will then include the link to your project page on our website.

All data derived from (sample) analyses, including relevant documentation, must be uploaded to the data repository (PEP) for future use by other applicants. Instructions on how to upload the data will be provided by the Research Support office.

All PPP data are stored in a PEP data repository, to ensure the privacy of our participants.

Data repository

All PPP data are stored in a PEP data repository. PEP uses Polymorphic Encryption and Pseudonimisation to protect data and the identities of participants. After approval of your application, your requested data will be made available in our data repository. You will receive instructions via e-mail on how to download and install the PEP client software. Through this client, you can download all requested data. Your dataset will be available using unique identifiers to protect the privacy of our participants.

Getting started with the data

Our team is constantly working on tools to improve the access to the PPP data. On our Github page, you can find the most up-to-date versions of the available tools: PPPDataProject · GitHub. These tools are free to use, but please note that they have been tailored to the PPP data.

If you have any questions on the use of the data repository, please contact the Research Support office through ppp-data@radboudumc.nl. Please make your question specific and add a print screen or the text of the error that is shown in the command prompt to enable us to help you out as soon as possible.

Sharing data with others

Open access to requested data, e.g. for a publication, does not comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, because the data contains a substantial amount of sensitive personal data. Data can therefore not be shared openly and its use is restricted to the dissemination of the data and samples only to the researchers involved in executing the research described in the application. More details on this clause are included in the Qualified Researcher Agreement. However, Radboudumc can grant access to the data to other researchers for replication studies or checks of scientific integrity if required.
